Bryan setter Kaylee Piatt totaled 31 assists in the Lady Vikings' three-set victory over Killeen Ellison on Tuesday at Viking Gymnasium.

For much of the night, the Bryan Lady Vikings played volleyball as though it was a game of blackjack.

Killeen Ellison got to 11, and Bryan hit.

Tiffany Regmund had 14 of the 34 kills recorded by the Lady Vikings in a 25-11, 25-11, 25-15 win Tuesday at Viking Gymnasium.

Senior setter Kaylee Piatt contributed 31 assists, setting up the Lady Vikings for the comfortable win on Parent's Night.

"It was nice that we got a lot of people in on Parent's Night," Bryan volleyball coach Caroline Simpson said. "We even had some people playing some different positions. You like games like that. They allow you to relax a little bit and do some things that you have been working on and trying."

The win gave Bryan, 12-12 overall, a 3-1 record in District 12-5A. The Lady Eagles fell to 1-3 and 6-17.

Freshman Reagan Boenker had 11 kills and 10 digs for Bryan, which also played well at the service line. Taylor Boenker had five of the 15 aces recorded by Bryan.

After establishing their advantage at the net early, Simpson was pleased with her team's level of play.

"They were playing hard," Simpson said. "You like games where you give an opportunity to a lot of different people and still win."

A kill from 6-0 freshman middle blocker Brittney Jones broke a 7-7 tie in the first game and Bryan ran off 12 straight points to take complete control, closing out the game on winning serves from Jacqueline Dusek and Emily Cowley. By contrast to the hard-hitting Lady Vikings, Ocleta Young had Ellison's only kill in the opening game.

Bryan had point strings of seven and eight straight in the second game, with Regmund getting three of her kills on those runs.

Ellison won more than two straight points only once in the match. Tiffany Miles planted an overset for the first of two winning kills that started a four-point string in the third game. Dani Torres recorded the last of those four points with an Ellison ace to cut the score to 11-9. Bryan ran off nine of the next 12 points to regain control.

Bryan will host Killeen Shoemaker Friday at 5:30 p.m. Shoemaker was winless in 12-5A play heading into Tuesday's match. The Lady Vikings return to the road Tuesday at Temple.
