Meagan Carpio banged out three hits and allowed just two while pitching a complete game as the Bryan West Major Girls moved into the championship round of the District 33 tournament by beating Bryan East 15-3 at Weedon Ballpark on Wednesday.
West posted its second victory in two days, earning a spot in Friday's title game for 11- and 12-year-old girls.
East will play an elimination game at 8 p.m. Thursday against Harvey or Franklin-Bremond.
The girls from West scored twice in the first inning and built a 9-0 lead before East collected its runs in the bottom of the third.
Carpio allowed only two infield singles. She notched four strikeouts and was supported by outstanding defense. West did not commit an error, getting good glove work from shortstop Melanie Savala, catcher Audriana Andrade and third baseman Alexis Enriquez.
West built its offense around 10 hits and seven walks. Carpio went 3 for 3, scoring three runs and driving in one. Mariam Supak and Savala had two hits apiece for West, while Kaitlyn Garcia, Savala and Enriquez each drove in two runs.
Supak delivered both of her hits during West's seven-run third inning. Savala had a two-run single in the frame, which included RBI hits by Desiray Saucedo and Carpio.
For East, Chyenne Maddux and Carla Serra drove in runs with singles. Ashley Contreras drilled the hottest shot off an East bat, but West shortstop Savala snagged the line drive.
East got good defensive plays from second baseman Desiree Blanco, third baseman Hope Rios and catcher Fallon Matthews.
In the top of the fifth, Enriquez smacked a two-run double to right-center that capped a four-run inning and put West in position to end the game one inning early by the 10-run rule.
West finished with flair, as Carpio, first baseman Garcia and Andrade combined on a game-ending double play.
