Martinez gets hole-in-one: Bryan High School golfer Matt Martinez shot a hole-in-one on No. 16 at an STPGA Junior Tour event at Pecan Lakes Golf Club in Navasota on Tuesday. Martinez used a 6-iron on the 168-yard hole. The shot was witnessed by Brady O'Neal and Brandon Roquet.
FOOTBALL
Football America camps being held: Football America is holding football camps in Denton and Huntsville.
The camps are for players ages 7 to 18. They feature daily instruction, lectures and demonstrations. Both camps offer overnight and day camp options.
The Jay Novacek Football Camp is July 6-9 at the University of North Texas in Denton.
The Steve Slaton Football Camp is July 12-15 at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville.

Bryan Barracudas swimmers compete at Pentathlon: HOUSTON -- The Bryan Barracudas had 11 swimmers compete at the 17th Annual Pentathlon in Houston on June 14. Bryan finished eighth out of 51 teams. Paige Anding took second in the 12-year old girls division while Marco Gutierrez placed 3rd in the 11-year old boys division.
The swimmers also improved on 17 team records in their respective age divisions. Connor DeStefano: 25-yard butterfly, 25 breaststroke and 100 I.M. Joshua Duewall: 25 butterfly, 25 freestyle and 100 I.M. Marco Gutierrez: 50 breaststroke, 50 freestyle and 100 I.M. Paige Anding: 50 butterfly, 50 backstroke, 50 breaststroke, 100 I.M. Alanis King: 50 butterfly, 50 breaststroke, 50 freestyle, 100 I.M.
