Leon runs past White Oak: WHITEHOUSE -- The Leon girls basketball team ouscored White Oak in every quarter of a 55-43 victory Wednesday in the girls Class 2A regional quarterfinals.

Leon will play Trinity in the regional semifinals at Tyler Junior College at 8 p.m. Friday.

Allison Carrigan led Leon with 16 points while Ashley Shuldham scored 13.

Brenham advances over Elgin: GIDDINGS -- The Brenham boys basketball team beat Elgin 41 in the bi-district round of the Class 4A playoffs.

Brenham (26-5) advances to the area round to face Galena Park at Cy-Ridge at 7 p.m. Friday.

Brenham's Chris Hull led all scorers with 18 points while Jeremy Hall had 16 and Deonnte Breedlove had 10. Hall and Hull hit four 3-pointers each.

Snook falls short against Louise: SCHULENBERG -- The Snook girls basketball team lost to Louise 53-38 in the regional quarterfinals of the Class A Division 1 playoffs on Wednesday.

Snook (26-8) was led by Daneshia Hoskins' 16 points. Miya Hoskins had nine. Rita Guillen added two points and seven rebounds while Shakera Barnes had eight points and four steals.

Consol boys shut out Ellison: The A&M Consolidated boys soccer team shut out Killeen Ellison 3-0 in District 12-5A action Wednesday at Tigerland Stadium.

Colby Graff scored two second-half goals for the Tigers (11-7, 8-0) while Ryan Armatys added a third. Scott Meyer and Nicos Georghiades each had an assist.

Consol's Henry Denoux picked up the shutout in goal, blocking a penalty kick in the first half to keep the score tied at zero.

Consol will play at Killeen Shoemaker at 8 p.m. Friday.

Bryan boys upend Cove: The Bryan boys soccer team beat Copperas Cove 5-2 on Wednesday at Merrill Green Stadium.

Bryan's Jose Wren scored two goals while teammates Kyle Wren, Arnoldo Garcia and Alex Cruz each added a goal. Wren, Jacob Marucci and Fabian Guerrero had assists.

Bryan (5-3 in 12-5A) will play at Belton at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Bryan girls net Pettibone milestone victory: COPPERAS COVE -- Bryan first-year head girls soccer coach Amy Pettibone won her 200th career match as the Lady Vikings beat Copperas Cove 4-0 on Wednesday.

Brittany Little, Kylie O'Conner, Laura Briner and Kacy Shea scored goals for Bryan. Dani Fellows and O'Conner each had an assist.

Bryan (13-6-1, 5-3) will host Belton at 7 p.m. Friday.

Rudder gets road shutout: LA GRANGE -- The Rudder girls soccer team beat La Grange 2-0 on Wednesday.

Mara Boyd and Katie Godfrey scored goals for Rudder while Kaitlyn Lampley picked up her sixth shutout in goal.

K.B. Bernal, Katie McFarland, Layne Lampley and Becca Kirkpatrick played well defensively for Rudder.

Rudder (7-2) will travel to Willis on Friday to wrap up its season.
