Allen Academy rolls to victory: AUSTIN -- The Allen Academy boys soccer team defeated Austin San Juan Diego 5-2 in a TAPPS district match Thursday.

David Moon scored twice for the Rams with James Brien, Katelyn Clark and Jackie Lee each adding a goal.

Allen Academy (4-4-2) will play host to Kerrville's Our Lady of the Hills at 5 p.m. Friday.

WRESTLING

Vikings pin Copperas Cove: With the Crosstown Showdown and the District 12-5A on the horizon, Bryan rested a few wrestlers but had no trouble beating Copperas Cove 61-23 on Thursday in 12-5A action.

Bryan (18-4) will host A&M Consolidated on Tuesday with the district meet set for Feb. 6 at Killeen Shoemaker.

"It was a good win," Bryan head coach Mike Zito said. "A lot of young guys got some mat time, and overall we took care of business."

Bryan's Edgar Davila (119 pounds), Zach Escobar (130), Blake Cyrus (145) and Kendall Gilbert (heavyweight) each had pins, while Fabian Diaz (103), Logan Meekma (112), Victor Thomas (135), Jose Martinez (140), Tracey Hodges (152), Denzel Brown (189) and David Jones (215) won their matches for the Vikings.
