Blinn knocked out of top spot in poll: Blinn dropped from the top spot to No. 4 in this week's NJCAA/JCFootball.com poll after losing to Southwest Junior College Football Conference foe Navarro College over the weekend.

Kansas' Fort Scott Community College moved into second while Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College is third.

Blinn will host Tyler at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Spencer Stadium in the SWJCFC semifinals. Tickets are $5 for adults $3 for children. Blinn students get in free with an ID.

Sam Rayburn 7th A 50, Jane Long 7th Black 28: Darius Ross scored five rushing touchdowns to lead Sam Rayburn. Justin Newton ran for a TD and threw a touchdown pass to Luke Estlund, while Cooper Holmes, John Gonzales, Holt Van Etten and Spenser Choka also played well offensively for Sam Rayburn.

Defensively, Trey Cole, Cameron Carver and Kez Washington played well for Sam Rayburn.

Qualin Newton scored three touchdowns for Jane Long, including one on a 10-yard pass from Aaron Wunnerberger. C.J. Johnson also scored a TD for Jane Long.

AMCMS 7th Silver 6, Brenham Green 0: Keith Lytle scored a rushing touchdown to lead AMCMS.

Offensive standouts for AMCMS were Chris Ramirez, Connor Schwartz and Keaunn Davisson.

AMCMS finished its season at 5-3.

AMCMS 7th Maroon 11, Brenham Green 8: Daniel Zivney kicked a 20-yard field goal with 5 seconds left to lead AMCMS.

Zivney also caught a touchdown pass from Justin Benden. Defensively, Derrick Dick, Derrick Henicke and Zivney played well.

AMCMS finished the season at 6-2.

AMCMS 8th Silver 8, Brenham White 6: Micah Rose scored on a 3-yard run while Ryan Roraback converted a PAT kick to lead AMCMS.

Raymond Corbett recovered a fumble while Bard Kennady blocked a PAT kick for AMCMS.

Brenham White 8th 28, AMCMS Maroon 12: Brandon Jackson rushed for a touchdown and caught a TD pass from Gus Miller to lead AMCMS.

Jeremy Wilson had an interception for AMCMS while D.J. Jackson and Willie Richards played well defensively.

Sam Rayburn 8th Gold 22, Jane Long Red 13: Derrick Johnson, Robert Lee and Darius McCoy each scored rushing touchdowns to lead Sam Rayburn.

Corey Johnson converted two PAT kicks while Lane Mullenn had an interception for Sam Rayburn (7-1).

Alvin Adams caught a touchdown pass from Logan Pottberg while Titus Cooper had a rushing touchdown for Jane Long (4-1-2). Defensively, Quinn Grant and Cooper played well.

Jane Long 8th Black 19, Sam Rayburn Blue 0: Nicky Damon scored three rushing touchdowns to lead Jane Long. Michael Cadena recovered a fumble while Ladarius Hill and Lane Bester played well.

Jane Long finished at 5-2 while Rayburn finished at 4-4.

Davila 8th A 24, SFA 6: Dre Murphy scored three touchdowns to lead Davila. Daniel Vanuelos converted three PAT kicks while Clayton Bice and Quin Green played well offensively. Defensively, Justin Gonzalez and Colton Hunn played well.

Grant Becker scored a touchdown for SFA, while DeMarcus Amos played well offensively.

Davila finished at 6-3.

SFA 7th 25, Davila A 18: Fabian Perez scored on a kickoff return. Xavier Murphy scored a rushing touchdown while Xavier Scott caught a receiving touchdown to lead Davila.

Defensively, Faustino Rojas and Jordan Tribble played well.

SFA 7th 21, Davila B 12: Braden Harris and Noe Lava each had a rushing touchdown to lead Davila.

Defensively, Justin Garcia and Lee Blaisdell played well.

VOLLEYBALL

Mumford beats Abbott in bi-district: The Mumford volleyball team swept Abbott 25-13, 25-13, 25-23 on Tuesday in Class A bi-district play.

Mumford trailed 20-13 in Game 3 before starting a 15-3 rally to clinch the victory.

Amber Eckenrode led Mumford with 17 kills, six digs and three blocks while teammate Ashley Eckenrode had six kills, six digs and four aces. Toni Pemberton added 11 assists and three aces while Natalie Hernandez had six assists.

Mumford will play No. 23 Avalon in the area round at 7 p.m. Thursday in Groesbeck.

Franklin beats Elkhart in bi-district: The Franklin volleyball team dropped the first two sets against Elkhart before rallying for a 23-25, 19-25, 25-14, 25-18, 15-4 victory in the bi-district round of the Class 2A playoffs.

Franklin (31-11), the second-place team from District 20-2A, will play Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill at 7 p.m. Thursday in Athens.

Anderson-Shiro cruises to bi-district victory: The Anderson-Shiro volleyball team swept Kirbyville 25-20, 25-15, 25-13 in the bi-district round of the Class 2A playoffs.

Anderson's Macy Moriarty had five kills, 21 assists and three aces while Jordan Hitchcock had 18 kills, five aces and one block. Teammate Taylor Sicola added three kills, three digs and six aces.

Anderson-Shiro (21-17) will play Houston YES Prep Southwest in the area round at a time and place to be decided.

North Zulch chops down Oakwood in bi-district: The North Zulch volleyball team swept Oakwood 25-13, 25-19, 25-18 in the bi-district round of the Class A playoffs.

Katie Gilbert led North Zulch with 24 assists and five aces, while Taylor Jones had 16 kills and Taylor Douget had 10 kills.

North Zulch (17-14) will face Katy Nelms in the area round at a time and place to be decided.
