Snook to honor 90-game winning streak players: The players on the Snook boys basketball teams that won 90 straight games from Dec. 12, 1964 to Nov. 2, 1966, will be honored at halftime of Friday's game between Snook and Normangee.

The varsity girls will play at 6 p.m. Friday followed by the boys.

GOLF

Bryan JV players place eighth, 19th in The Woodlands: A pair of Bryan golfers competed in The Woodlands JV boys golf tournament Thursday at the The Oaks Course of The Woodlands Resort.

Bryan's Miles Greenwood tied for 8th with an 81, which was eight shots back of the winner, Cy-Woods' Austin Hughes. Bryan's Bryce Beall shot 85 to tie for 19th.

GYMNASTICS

Consol to host meet Friday: The A&M Consolidated gymnastic teams will host an invitational meet Friday at Brazos Valley Gymnastics on Highway 30.

The Tigers will compete against girls teams from Rudder, Alvin, Kingwood, Beaumont Ozen and Beaumont Westbrook. The boys teams will be Consol, Rudder and Ozen.

The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:45 a.m. and last about three hours.

Consol's top performers are Ben Guzman for the boys and Alison Garlick and Maggie Drummond for the girls.

POWERLIFTING

Navasota wins at Madisonville: The Navasota varsity boys powerlifting team won the Madisonville Invitational on Thursday with 56 points. The JV team won its division with 64 points.

Brazos Christian shuts out Temple Holy Trinity: The Brazos Christian Eagles (9-0, 8-0) clinched the TAPPS Division III District 5 championship with a 4-0 victory over Temple Holy Trinity on Thursday.

Eagle goalkeeper Kolby Kahlden has not given up a goal in eight games and as a team the Eagles have allowed only two.

Brad Brown, Colin Lee, Will McCurdy and Joseph Wang all scored for the Eagles against Holy Trinity.

Brown also recorded three assists while Lee added one.

Brazos Christian will open the Division III playoffs at home against San Marcos Baptist at 7 p.m. on Feb. 3.

Consol plays to scoreless tie: The A&M Consolidated girls soccer team played Cedar Park to a scoreless tie Thursday in the Georgetown Lady Governor's Cup.

Consol goalkeeper Christina Salas had her sixth shutout of the season for the Lady Tigers (4-2-3), who will play Arlington Lamar on Friday at Georgetown High School and Coppell on Saturday at East Side High in Georgetown.
