BASKETBALL
Mumford's Eckenrode to play in all-star game: Mumford senior Ashley Eckenrode will play in the 11th Texas Roundup All-Star Basketball Game on March 20 in Maypearl.
Eckenrode, the District 26-A MVP, was among 24 girls and 24 boys picked from Class A-3A schools to play in the game.
The girls will play at 3 p.m., followed by the boys.
GOLF
Kwon, Pearcy lead Allen: Allen Academy freshman Eji Kwon took girls medalist honors at a golf tournament hosted by Temple's Holy Trinity at Temple's Sammons Golf Course on Monday, and the Ram boys took second place.
Kwon shot a 79, while freshman Chase Pearcy led the boys with an 83, which was good for third medalist.
