Bryan player shares 4th place: FORT WORTH -- Bryan High golfer Sam DeStefano is tied for fourth place after the opening round of the Elbit Systems of America Junior Golf Classic.
DeStefano shot a 2-under 70 and is four shots off the lead held by Mexico's Alejandro Villasana. DeStefano had a stretch of four straight holes with birdies, but had bogeys at 16, 17 and 18 on the par-72, 7,154-yard Southern Oaks Golf Club.
DeStefano was a sophomore on the Vikings golf team last season.
