Alumni team beats Caldwell: CALDWELL -- An alumni team of players from Caldwell's 1998 state champions defeated the Lady Hornet varsity 25-18, 25-17, 23-25, 25-14 in an exhibition match Monday.
Beth Karasek led the Alumni with 28 kills, while current Caldwell coach Jane Anne Karasek added 15 kills and 12 digs. Sydney Haisler had 42 assists.
For the varsity, April Howell had 16 kills, Kim Crnkovic added 12 kills and Kelsey Alford had 34 assists.
Caldwell will play at the Montgomery tournament on Thursday.
