Normangee named Team of the Year: The Normangee Panther football team was honored as the Army Strong Class A Team of the Year on Monday at the Panthers' sports banquet.

The award was presented by Dave Campbell's Texas Football magazine at a ceremony in the Normangee school cafeteria.

The Army Strong Team of the Year honors a commitment to loyalty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, personal courage and teamwork. This is the first year the award has been presented.

"The Panthers exemplified the values that we were looking for in our Team of the Year winners," said Adam Hochfelder, executive director of Dave Campbell's Texas Football. "They truly know the meaning of things like courage and teamwork."

BASEBALL

Blinn finished: In their third game of the Region XIV Baseball Tournament the Blinn College lost to Angelina College on Monday, 7-5, in an elimination game at the Region XIV tournament.

The Bucs finish the season at 27-29.
