The Cameron Lady Yoe made their first state golf appearance in 2009. That was in Class 3A and was played on a Thursday and Friday, but it will be the familiar Roy Kizer Golf Course where Cameron returns as a Class 2A team for the UIL State Tournament on Monday and Tuesday.

The six-time district champions have three members of that team back -- Emily Fuchs, Lauren Eichinger and Emily Dohnalik. Haley Miller was the alternate in 2009. Jenna Sapp is the new member of the team since that last trip to state. Brittany Brashear is the alternate. She competed at regionals as a medalist.

Cameron has won tournament titles at the Cameron Invitational, Battle Lake, La Grange and Lago Vista, and was second at Mill Creek.

The Lady Yoe posted a two-day team total of 710, winning by 39 shots over second-place Lago Vista at Quail Creek in San Marcos to win the Region IV-2A tournament. It was the Cameron girls' first regional title. They finished second to Carthage in 2009.

Fuchs won the regional title with a 160 total and Eichinger was third medalist at 174.

Dohnalik will tee off first, at 8:50 a.m. Monday.

Ross Arrington's tee time is 9:45, the first of two Class 2A boys medalist groups on the Roy Kizer course, but in the next-to-last foursome of the day. The Anderson-Shiro junior, who won the 2010 regional championship, finished fourth this year but qualified individually behind Hughes Springs' regional winner Casey Cochrane on the Region III-2A course at Bullard's Oak Hurst Golf Course. The top two individuals not on a state-bound team advance.

Arrington shot rounds of 79 and 77 on the par 71, 6,739 yard Kizer course at the Class 2A state tournament last May. He finished in a tie for sixth and will see one golfer that finished ahead of him in the 2010 tournament -- Wall's Garrett Smith, Crawford's Jake Blenden and Quitman's Jake Gorman -- all of whom finished two shots ahead of Arrington. Wall's Jacob Daughtry, who tied Arrington, is also back with his team. Gorman's Quitman golf team is the defending state champion.

Cochrane won regional with a 145 total while Arrington had consecutive rounds of 76 on the par 72, 6,371-yard course. Arrington was the top golfer not on a state-qualifying team. Gorman shot 76-75 --151 to lead Quitman to the regional title.
