SOMERVILLE -- The Somerville Yeguas played near-flawless football to beat the Thrall Tigers 33-7 on Friday.
Quarterback Cody Holliday was the do-it-all guy for the Yeguas, going 9-for-13 passing with 152 yards and two touchdowns and leading the team in rushing with 114 yards and two more scores. Somerville (2-0) had 383 yards of offense while holding Thrall to 228 and two turnovers.
Jeff Foster had four receptions for 66 yards, and D.T. Mathis had two for 37 for Somerville. Each had a receiving touchdown. Ricky Bruno added 59 rushing yards and a score.
Somerville hosts Giddings State School next Friday for Homecoming.
