Here are the efforts by former Brazos Valley football players in the collegiate ranks over the Nov. 8 weekend. Players are included when they record statistics, start the game or reach career milestones. Players who are being redshirted or do not play are not included.
FOUR-YEAR COLLEGES
Matt Clark, Western Washington, FB (Consol): Clark caught three passes for 17 yards in the 49-21 loss to ninth-ranked Central Washington.
Brandon Collins, Texas, WR (Brenham): Collins scored his first career touchdown in the 45-21 victory over Baylor. The sophomore caught one pass for 40 yards and made one tackle. He has 225 receiving yards this season.
Apollos Daily, Midwestern State, DL (Consol): Daily broke up a pass in the 47-17 loss to second-ranked Abilene Christian. The junior finished the season with 14 tackles, including three for a loss, one sack and two pass deflections.
Jake Dezell, Howard Payne, LB (Normangee): Dezell led his team in tackles with 11 in the 67-0 loss to seventh-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor. The junior is second on the team with 65 tackles this season.
Drew Dudley, Kansas, LB (Consol): Dudley made one tackle in the 45-25 loss to Nebraska. The sophomore has 12 tackles this season.
Kendrick Dunn, Washington State, LB (Hearne): Dunn made two tackles in the 59-28 loss to Arizona, giving him 32 tackles this season.
Patrick Edwards, Houston, WR (Hearne): Edwards recently was released from the hospital after a second trip meant as a precaution against infection in his surgically repaired leg. The redshirt freshman broke his leg against Marshall on Oct. 28 and had a rod inserted into his fibula.
Nick Grimes, Sam Houston State, OL (Consol): Grimes started at guard in the 47-37 victory over Nicholls State. The senior helped his offense gain 576 total yards.
Clayton Hanks, Winona State, LB (Consol): Hanks returned a kickoff 20 yards and had one tackle in the 38-7 loss to Minnesota Duluth. The redshirt freshman finished the season with 21 tackles.
E.J. Hawkins, Northwest Missouri State, CB (Lexington): Hawkins made one tackle in the 48-24 victory over Missouri Southern, giving him 11 tackles this season.
Alfonzo Jackson, Washington State, DB (Hearne): Jackson made two tackles in the loss to Arizona, giving him 24 tackles this season.
Curtis Jackson, Eastern New Mexico State, RB (Consol): Jackson made two tackles in the 59-13 victory over Oklahoma Panhandle. The true freshman finished the season with eight tackles.
Austin January, Abilene Christian, DE (Rockdale): January had one sack in the 47-17 victory over Midwestern State. With the win, Abilene Christian clinches the Lone Star Conference title and a first-round bye in the Division II playoffs.
Blake Joseph, Houston, QB (Bryan): Joseph completed 1 of 3 passes for 10 yards in the 42-14 victory over Tulane. The sophomore has completed 9 of 16 passes for 142 yards this season.
Mark Kaspar, The Citadel, P (Navasota): Kaspar averaged 35.3 yards on three punts in the 33-28 loss to 10th-ranked Wofford.
Jarrett Lee, Louisiana State, QB (Brenham): Lee completed 13 of 34 passes for 181 yards with four interceptions and a touchdown in the 27-21 overtime loss to top-ranked Alabama. Lee has completed 119 of 223 passes for 1,608 yards with 13 touchdowns and 14 interceptions this season.
Corey Lewis, Tarleton State, RB (Lexington): Lewis had two tackles in the 51-0 loss to West Texas A&M, giving him three tackles this season.
Detron Lewis, Texas Tech, WR (Consol): Lewis caught seven passes for 93 yards in the 56-20 victory over eighth-ranked Oklahoma State. The sophomore has 57 receptions for 730 yards this season.
David Nixon, Brigham Young, LB (Consol): Nixon intercepted a pass and made 14 tackles in the 41-12 victory over San Diego State. The senior leads the team with three interceptions and is second in tackles with 67 this season.
Bernard Palmer, Henderson State, RB (Consol): Palmer scored two touchdowns and rushed for 46 yards in the 43-36 loss to Ouachita Baptist. The senior finished the season with 794 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns.
Daniel Palmer, Texas-El Paso, RB (Consol): Palmer rushed three times for 9 yards in the 37-24 victory over Louisiana-Lafayette. The true freshman has 128 rushing yards this season.
Torlan Pittman, Southern Methodist, DT (Bryan): Pittman made two tackles in the 31-26 loss to Memphis, giving him seven tackles this season.
Cameron Schultz, Texas A&M-Kingsville, K/P (Brenham): Schultz averaged 48.7 yards on six kickoffs in the victory over Angelo State.
Brian Scott, Mary Hardin-Baylor, WR (Cameron): Scott caught an 18-yard touchdown pass in the 67-0 victory over Howard Payne. The junior leads his team with 386 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
Nicholas Searcy, Sul Ross State, C (Bryan): Searcy started at center in the 41-10 loss to Mississippi College. The true freshman helped his offense gain 159 rushing yards.
Thurman Sims, East Central, TE (Caldwell): Sims made his first tackle of the season in the 38-31 loss to Southeastern Oklahoma. The sophomore finished the season with two catches for 29 yards and a touchdown.
Stryker Sulak, Missouri, DL (Rockdale): Sulak had two tackles and a pass breakup in the 41-24 victory over Kansas State. The senior has 44 tackles, 6 1/2 sacks, five forced fumbles, five quarterback hits, three pass breakups and a blocked kick this season.
Brad Taylor, Baylor, WR (Madisonville): Taylor started at tight end in the 45-21 loss to fifth-ranked Texas.
Bryson Tucker, Mary Hardin Baylor, DB (Caldwell): Tucker led his team in rushing for the second consecutive week in the 67-0 victory over Howard Payne. The junior scored a touchdown and had 89 rushing yards on 13 carries. Tucker has rushed for 227 yards this season.
Nelson Veliz, Sul Ross State, FB (Madisonville): Veliz rushed twice for minus 1 yard in the 41-10 loss to Mississippi College. The true freshman has 123 all-purpose yards this season.
Seth Waller, McMurry, TE (Bryan): Waller caught one pass for 2 yards in the 45-20 loss to crosstown rival Hardin-Simmons, which won the Wilford Moore trophy for the 11th straight season.
Markeith Wesley, Texas A&M-Kingsville, OL (Navasota): Wesley started at guard in the 38-14 victory over Angelo State. The senior helped his offense gain 616 total yards.
Jamal Williams, Texas State, S (Rockdale): Williams had four tackles in the 38-24 victory over Southeastern Louisiana, giving him 47 tackles this season.
