WACO -- The Cameron Yoemen used a 20-point first half to put away Lorena 27-17 at Waco ISD Stadium on Friday.
Cameron's James Wells scored on a 3-yard run in the first quarter and later added touchdown runs of 1 and 30 yards. He finished with 47 yards on 11 carries.
Cameron quarterback Steven Townsend completed 13 of 20 passes for 173 yards with one interception. Townsend also led the team in rushing with 74 yards on 12 carries. Backup quarterback and starting wide receiver Jack Rhoades threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to Tommy Anderson and caught two passes for 64 yards.
Cameron (3-1) will open District 24-3A play next week at Rockdale.
