Here are the standouts from A&M Consolidated's 38-24 victory over Cypress Woods on Friday:

Offensive linemen: Guards Cade Shimek and Dillon Smith earned the highest grades as the entire unit had a productive night, opening plenty of holes as the Tigers rushed for 485 yards and averaged 7.8 yards per carry. Fellow starters Dalton Downey, Alex Wilson and Patrick Galloway also performed well.

Offensive backs: Junior Quinton White delivered his second consecutive outstanding game, rushing for 161 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries before leaving the game with a minor groin injury and cramps in the third quarter. After starting quarterback Jacob Bronowski was knocked out of the game, White played one series at quarterback and completed a key third-down pass before running for a score.

Fullback Clinton Banks pounded out 145 yards on 21 carries, pushing his two-game total past 300 yards. Chris Nutall rushed for 88 yards and caught two passes for 38 yards.

Backup quarterback Justin Benden kept the offense on track after replacing Bronowski.

Defensive backs: Senior cornerback Ernest Payton finished with six tackles and saved the Tigers 14 points when he twice chased down ball carriers who were behind the defense.

Junior safety Josue Ordonez made seven tackles to lead the team for the second consecutive game, Chris Ceazer had six tackles and Marcel Mickens made an interception.

Linebackers: Middle linebacker Kade Kenney contributed six tackles, including five solo stops. Ben Kennedy had four tackles.

Defensive linemen: Tackle Caden Walker had two solo stops among his five tackles, junior J.J. Bynum finished with four tackles that included a quarterback sack, and end Fredrick Goodman had a sack.

Special teamers: Place-kicker Jordan Jeter connected on a 29-yard field goal to start the scoring and hit all five extra points. White punted twice for a 41.5-yard average.

Coach Jim Slaughter said: The rib injury to quarterback Jacob Bronowski was not as bad as feared, and Bronowski could play this week.

"He's fine," Slaughter said. "I'm going to let him get well, but he should be back. I was extremely proud of Justin Benden coming in and playing the way he did. Justin did a great job of executing our offense. We had tremendous hustle by the kids. They made mistakes, but they got after it."
