College Station girls basketball team defeats Hempstead

The College Station girls basketball team coasted to a 70-12 victory over Hempstead on Tuesday in nondistrict play.

Raenette Hughes led College Station (2-1) with 17 points. Sydni Freeman had 16 points and Kaylah Cooke 10.

College Station won the JV game 55-9. Tay’Dra Sanders led the Lady Cougars with 23 points.

The Lady Cougars will compete in the Cameron tournament starting Friday. Their next home game is set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday against Columbus.
