CONROE -- The Bryan boys basketball team battled back from a 10-point deficit to tie the game twice, but the Conroe Tigers pulled out an 81-77 victory in District 14-5A on Friday night.

Bryan tied the game with four minutes left in the first half, but Conroe went on a run for a 40-28 halftime lead. The Vikings battled back to tie again in the third quarter, but the Tigers regained control for a 57-45 lead.

Conroe had a big night at the free-throw, hitting 30 of 43 while Bryan was 19 of 32.

Conroe senior guard Stedman Bell had 30 points. The Vikings had a trio with at least 20 points. Hollis Ballom and A.J. Lawson each had 21, and Quaylon Newton had 20.
