Consol boys coast after slow start: MANSFIELD -- The A&M Consolidated boys basketball team outscored Terrell by 42 points over the final three quarters en route to a 72-43 blowout in the Mansfield Tournament on Friday.
The Tigers (4-2) were led by Otis Young's 15 points. Kevin Jefferson, Quinton White and Justin Campbell each had 12.
Consol will face Midland Lee at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in an elimination game.

Bryan advances to championship: EL PASO -- The Bryan Viking boys basketball team won both of its games Friday, leading to a McDonald's Fall Classic championship matchup with Dallas Lincoln at 11 a.m. Saturday at Eastwood High School.
The Vikings (7-1) advanced with victories over El Paso-Franklin 63-46 and Prestonwood Christian Academy 68-65. Bryan entered the fourth quarter trailing Christian Academy but rallied to win.
J-Mychal Reese led the scoring in both games, pouring in 17 points in the first and 14 in the next. Wesley Shimek and Roc Martin each added 11 in the victory over Prestonwood.

Rudder girls split Friday games: KILLEEN -- The Rudder girls basketball team split a pair of games in the Killeen Tournament on Friday, losing to Richardson Berkner 68-62 then blasting past Killeen Shoemaker 75-44.
Lamaria Cole led Rudder with 17 points in the loss. Marche Amerson added 12.
In the victory, Cole and Fatima Adams led the Lady Rangers with 15 points apiece. Jazzlyn Roberson finished with 13.
Rudder (9-1) will play Killeen at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

GYMNASTICS
Consol girls beat Rudder: A&M Consolidated's girls gymnastics team beat Rudder 112.8-104.7 on Friday night at Rudder.
Alvin and Beaumont Ozen were scheduled to compete in the event but had to cancel due to weather.
Consol's Maggie Drummond placed second in the all-around after winning on the balance beam, placing fourth on the vault and fifth on the uneven bars and the floor exercise. Consol's Megan Schill was third in the all-around after placing second on the uneven bars, fourth on the floor and sixth on the vault. Debra Roussell won the vault and uneven bars events. Taylor Chenault won the floor event. Catherine Chenault took second on the fault, and Alison Garlick took third on the balance beam and floor.
Rudder freshman Christine Voneiff won the all-around after taking second on the beam and floor and third on the vault and uneven bars. Rudder's Hannah Bernal was fourth in the all-around, fifth on the vault and floor and sixth on the bars and beam. Jessica Warden was fifth in the all-around.
Consol will compete at Ozen on Dec. 11.
Rudder will return to action Jan. 15 at the Kingwood Invitational.
