Rudder girls beat Belton: TEMPLE -- Marche Amerson scored 14 points and Lamaria Cole had 12 to lead the Rudder girls basketball team past Belton 65-51 on Saturday in the Temple tournament.

Rudder is in Class 4A while Belton is in 5A.

Rudder (3-1) will play at Waco at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

FOOTBALL

Milano 60, High Island 22: ROSENBERG -- Thomas Sanders rushed for 212 yards and four touchdowns and threw for 154 yards and two more scores to fuel Milano's victory in Class A Division II bi-district action Friday night.

Jaxson Robinson also threw a touchdown pass, a 10-yarder to Justin Grimes, as the Eagles advanced to face Falls City in area play at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Burger Stadium in Austin.

Normangee 42, Hull-Daisetta 14: MAGNOLIA -- Colin Reed rushed for 237 yards and three touchdowns behind a dominant offensive line to lead Normangee past Hull-Diasetta in the Class A Division I bi-district playoffs Friday at Magnolia West.

Left tackle Dylon Ross, left guard Tony Craigo, center Luke Sams, right guard Dylon Isom and right tackle Corey Cook paved the way for Normangee (8-3) to gain 462 yards.

Scotty Dickens hit 11 of 21 passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns. Dominique Barton caught five passes for 98 yards and two TDs and had a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

Normangee will face Price Carlisle (9-1) in the area round of the playoffs at 4 p.m. Saturday in Fairfield. Price Carlisle won District 9-A Division I and had a first-round bye.

GYMNASTICS

Rudder's Fletcher wins All-Around against Round Rock: Rudder's Madelyn Fletcher won the all-around after sweeping the vault, uneven bars and floor exercise against Round Rock on Friday.

Round Rock won the team competition 110.7-108.6 in Rudder's first girls meet of the season.

Fletcher also took third on the balance beam.

Rudder's Meredith Fletcher placed sixth in the all-around, finishing second on the vault, third on the floor, seventh on bars and 10th on beam. Rudder's Hannah Bernal placed seventh in the all-around, finishing third on the vault, fifth on the floor and eight on bars and beam. Madisen Walker was fifth on the vault and bars and seventh on beam. Emily Desormeaux was seventh on vault, and Kristal Alvarado was 10th on the vault.

Rudder will host Alvin, A&M Consolidated and Beaumont Ozen on Dec. 3.
