Blinn College players to participate in All-Star weekend: Seven members of the 2011-12 Blinn baseball team have been selected to participate in the Texas/New Mexico Junior College All-Star Weekend. The 11th Annual Fuddrucker's All-Star weekend will be Sept. 30-Oct. 1 at the Baylor Ball Park and Getterman Stadium in Waco.

The tournament includes four selected teams of All-Stars from Texas and New Mexico Junior Colleges and gives the players an opportunity to showcase their talents for collegiate coaches and professional scouts.

Blinn will be represented by Tyler Boss (OF, Klein), Kevin Daniels (OF, St. Joseph-Victoria), Kevin Hahn (LHP, Stratford), Jake Kane (SS, Dulles), Eric Preuss (IF, Brenham), Trevor Seidenberger (LHP, Pflugerville Hendrickson) and Jason Simms (RHP, Liberty Christian).

VOLLEYBALL

Consol sweeps Belton: BELTON -- The A&M Consolidated volleyball team swept Belton 25-10, 25-14, 25-12 on Friday to improve to 3-0 in District 12-5A action.

Jessica Wagner led the Lady Tigers (21-10) with 15 kills and five aces, chipping in seven digs. Kaitlyn Corbett had eight digs, while Jordyn Slocum had a team-high 18 assists. Kaycey Cermin led with four blocks while Casey Shomaker had eight assists and two blocks.

Consol's JV won 25-16, 25-21, the Freshmen A team swept 25-16, 25-12, and the B team rolled 25-7, 25-10.

The Lady Tigers play at Killeen Shoemaker Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Bryan loses in five to Temple: The Bryan Viking volleyball team fell to Temple 22-25, 25-19, 27-25, 24-26, 11-15 Tuesday night. Reagan Boenker led Bryan (11-20, 1-2) with 28 kills, 7 aces and 22 digs while Jessica Pfeffer had 17 kills and 9 digs.

Brittany Little had 19 digs and Abby Cullen had 17 digs along with 49 assists. Erika Russel added 14 digs. Bryan will travel to take on Copperas Cove on Tuesday.

No. 3 Blinn College wins first two at invite: SAN JACINTO -- The third-ranked Blinn College volleyball team improved to 18-0 on the season with a 25-11, 25-14, 25-22 win over Wharton County Junior College at the San Jacinto College Invitational.

Blinn defeated Texas Western College 25-12, 25-17, 25-14 in its first match of the day.

Ksenia Sukhareva led the Bucs with 11 kills in the second match. Kelsey Schwartz led the team in assists with 22 and Jackie Gerig added 16. The block leaders were Preslie Alexander and Courtni Bauer with three each, and Libero Kalli Mikulik led the team in digs with 13.

The Bucs play Saturday at 12:30 p.m. against Temple College.
