BASEBALL

Bucs split a pair with Panola: BRENHAM -- The Blinn Buccaneer baseball team split a doubleheader with Panola on Saturday, losing the first game 6-1 then bouncing back with an 8-4 victory.

Trailing 4-3 after four innings in Game 2, Blinn (7-7) scored five runs in the next two innings to pull off the comeback.

GOLF

Consol girls finish fifth: AUSTIN -- The A&M Consolidated girls golf team finished fifth in a state preview tournament, shooting 326-325-651. Austin Westlake won at 625.

Individually for the Lady Tigers, Casey Grice finished fifth with a 74-78-152. Haley Green shot 78-84-162, Angela No 87-79-166, Shikhi Cheruku 87-84-171 and Lauren Ballenger 89-84-173.

Consol will host an invitational March 5-6 at Pebble Creek Country Club.

SOFTBALL

Bryan wins fourth straight: Ashley Lara, Brooke Parker and Rachel Nuche each had two hits to lead Bryan past San Antonio Holmes 10-4 in five innings Saturday at the Bryan-College Station Tournament.

Emily Peirce (2-1) and Jennifer Kasper pitched for Bryan, which finished the tournament with four straight round-robin victories.

The Lady Vikings (5-1) will return to action at 7 p.m. Friday at San Marcos.
