Major Boys
Bryan North 16, Bryan West 7: Bryan North won its third elimination game in three days Friday at Weedon Ballpark, earning a spot in the District 33 championship game for 11- and 12-year-old boys.
North will play unbeaten Bryan Harvey at Harvey's ballpark at 7 p.m. Saturday. A victory by North would force a second title game Sunday.
The District 33 champion will earn a spot in the sectional tournament at Southwood Valley that will begin July 17.
Michael Starnes powered the North hitting attack by going 4 for 5 with a home run and a double. Cooper Holmes banged out two doubles, and Tyler Scott had two hits. North also got doubles from Ryan Hawkins and Luke Estlund, while Colin Allen had a single.
North used four pitchers to earn a rematch with Harvey, which beat North 12-2 in their first meeting.
West got a two-run triple from Darrien Williams and two hits from Johnny Duarte.
9- & 10-year-old Softball
Bryan Harvey 11, Bryan Bonham 7: Bryan Harvey defeated Bryan Bonham 11-7 to earn a spot in the 9- and 10-year-old softball championship game Saturday.
Harvey was led by Katelyn Francis, who was 3 for 4 at the plate. Ty Johnson went 2 for 4.
Rachel Agnello got the complete-game pitching win, with help from an outstanding defensive effort by shortstop Morgan Chavarria.
Andrea Garcia and Mariah Saused had two hits each for Bonham. Makayla Flores, Adri Serena and Mackenzie Young also had hits.
Harvey, which needs two wins over Bryan West to win the title, plays at West at 7 p.m. Saturday. If needed, the teams will play at 7 p.m. Sunday.
