Consol wins shootout at Cove: COPPERAS COVE -- The A&M Consolidated boys basketball team kept its share of the District 12-5A lead Tuesday by defeating Copperas Cove 87-76.

Consol (25-4, 9-1) was led by Texas A&M commit Alex Caruso with 28 points and Quinton White added 23. Junior guard Cory Scott led Cove with 33 points.

The Tigers will play host to co-leader Harker Heights (23-6, 9-1) at 7 p.m. Friday.

Bryan girls stuggle against Heights: The Bryan Lady Vikings hosted District 12-5A leader Harker Heights Tuesday night, scoring no more than four points in any quarter in a 74-12 loss to the eighth-ranked team.

Bryan will be at Belton at 7 p.m. Friday.

Vikings win final nondistrict tune-up: The Bryan boys soccer team defeated Conroe 2-1i on Tuesday at Merrill Green Stadium.

Rene Juarez and Jordan Freeman scored for the Vikings (7-3-1). Freeman's game-winner was assisted by Arnoldo Garcia.

Bryan will host Killeen Ellison at 7 p.m. Friday to open 12-5A.
