Rudder loses to Hendrickson: Pflugerville Hendrickson beat Rudder 19-0 on Tuesday in District 16-4A action.


Rudder (3-4) will close out its fall season by hosting Manor at 4:30 p.m. Monday.


VOLLEYBALL


St. Joseph falls in first round of playoffs: San Antonio Keystone beat St. Joseph 25-17, 25-9, 24-26, 25-11 in TAPPS bi-district playoff action Wednesday.


Kelsey Coneley led St. Joseph with 20 kills, 15 digs and one ace. Also for St. Joseph, Anna Walker had 29 assists and eight digs. Claudia O'Connell had 13 digs. Dione Simmons had four kills and one dig. Ellie Lipscomb had four kills, 12 digs and two aces. Makenzie Mosier had 16 digs and one ace, and Courtney Hall had five kills, 14 digs and one ace.

Blinn moves up to No. 1 in Top 25: The Blinn volleyball team moved up to No. 1 in this week's national junior college poll, giving the school a pair of top-ranked teams. Blinn's football team has been No. 1 for three weeks.


The Blinn volleyball team jumped ahead of defending national champion Western Nebraska Community College which recently lost its first game of the season, falling to No. 9 Iowa Western Community College.


Blinn (28-0, 10-0) is coming off a 25-18, 25-23, 25-17 victory over Tyler Junior College. The Bucs will play Austin Concordia's JV in Austin at 4 p.m. Friday.
