Former Bryan High student Brek Shea of Major League Soccer's FC Dallas was selected to his first MLS All-Star team on Sunday by way of the "First XI" fan vote, which consists of the top 11 players in the league at their positions this season as voted by the fans.

Shea, the second overall pick by FC Dallas in the 2008 MLS Superdraft, is tied for second this season in the MLS chase for the Budweiser Golden Boot (the league's top goal-scorer) with eight goals, and is first in the league with four game-winners.

Brek attended Bryan and played for the Dallas Texans Soccer Club before joining the U.S. National Team residency program in Bradenton, Florida, after his freshman year.

The 2011 MLS All-Star game will take place at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J., on July 27, where the league's top players will face Europe's Manchester United.
