Tuesday -- Field events begin: 8:30 a.m.; running finals: 5:30 p.m.
Brazos Valley teams: A&M Consolidated, Bryan
Three to watch:
Karis Jochen -- Can the Consol sophomore pull an upset in the distance-strong region? Don't rule her out in the 3,200, where she won district by over 53 seconds, with a time of 11:10.85.
Taylor Williams -- Her 37-6 triple jump puts her in contention, but in a region that is deep in jumpers
Travis Bohne -- Outstanding at the district meet for Consol in the 3,200, Bohne will face some top distance runners
Region II-4A
Fouts Field, University of North Texas, Denton
Monday -- Field events begin: 10 a.m.; running prelims: 5:15 p.m.; 3,200: 8:35 p.m.
Tuesday -- Field events begin: 9 a.m.; running finals: 6 p.m.
Brazos Valley team: Rudder
Three to watch:
Alvin Moore -- His 6-8 district high jump puts him on the short list for the state meet
Mike Jones -- Rudder's Jones completes in the 100, which he won at district, and in the 200
Discus -- In the Rangers' only two-athlete event, David Wilganowski and Matt Cohan compete
Region III-4A
Bowers Stadium, Sam Houston State, Huntsville
Monday -- Field events begin: 3 p.m.; running prelims, 5 p.m.; 3,200: 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday -- Field events begin: 3 p.m.; running finals, 5:30 p.m.
Brazos Valley team: Brenham
Three to watch:
Will Antkowiak - Brenham's 4A state record holder in the 3,200 is favored to return to state in that race and the 1,600. No one ran near him at district.
Byron Taylor -- 47-0 1/4 gives him a good state shot in the triple jump
Sprint relay -- Brenham's 400 relay team, which includes Taylor, has a chance
Region III-3A
Turner Stadium, Humble
Monday -- Field events begin: 8:30 a.m.; running prelims: 12:30 p.m.; 3,200: 8:30 p.m.
Tuesday -- Field events begin: 9 a.m.; running finals: 1 p.m.
Brazos Valley teams: Caldwell, Madisonville, Navasota, Rockdale
Three to watch:
Daniel Brooks - The Rockdale junior has an opportunity to advance in the 110 hurdles, the 300 hurdles, the 100 and long jump
Rodney Brown vs. Le'Raven Clark -- Navasota's Brown and Rockdale's Clark were at state in the discus last year; they will face off in the discus and shot put
William Deere - The Caldwell sprinter won the 200 in 23-3A, posting a time of 21.85 in his prelim
Region II-2A
Memorial Stadium, Tarleton State, Stephenville
Monday -- Field events begin: 9 a.m.; 3,200: 10 a.m.; running prelims: 2 p.m.
Tuesday -- Field events begin: 9 a.m.; running finals, 1 p.m.
Brazos Valley teams: Franklin, Leon, Hearne
Three to watch:
Re'Jana Ellison: The Hearne sophomore won the long jump (17-8 1/4), the 400 (58.52), and the 200 (25.26) at the 16-2A meet
LaShandra Eldridge and Janie Neyland: The Franklin duo was 1-2 at district in the triple jump, and will be teammates on the 1,600 relay. They will be part of four more individual competitions. Eldridge is in the 400 and 200. Neyland qualified in the 100 hurdles and 300-meter hurdles.
LaMarcus Cooks: Hearne's Cooks is a regional qualifiers in the 300 hurdles, the triple jump and the high jump.
Region III-2A
Wildcat Stadium, Whitehouse
Monday -- Field events begin: 9 a.m.; 3,200: 2 p.m.; running prelims: 2:35 p.m.
Tuesday -- Field events begin: 9 a.m.; running finals: 2:30 p.m.
Brazos Valley teams: Anderson-Shiro, Centerville
Three to watch:
Callie Padgett: Her 800 time may not show her as a contender, but the Centerville runner competes to win, not for times. Padgett is in the 800 and the 1,600 relay for the defending state champs.
Gerald Fernandez: The Anderson-Shiro hurdler has top-six times in both the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles.
The relays: Centerville's girls have teams in the 400-, 800-, and 1,600-meter relays. The Tiger boys also sent their 1,600 relay team.
Region IV-2A
D.W. Rutledge Stadium, Converse Judson
Monday -- Field events begin: 9 a.m.; running prelims: 3:30 p.m.; 3,200: 7 p.m.
Tuesday -- Field events begin: 9 a.m.; running finals: 1:30 p.m.
Brazos Valley teams: Cameron, Lexington
Three to watch:
The relays - Cameron has best qualifying time in the 400 and 800 girls relays and the top boys 400-meter relay
Rhiem Petterson - The Lexington 110-meter hurdler has the top qualifying time (15.22)
Maseson Mondrik - A relay member, Cameron' Mondrik looks to return to state in the 100, where she ran the region's best time by far, 11.66
Region III-A
Wildcat Stadium, Palestine
Monday -- Field events begin: noon; 3,200: 5 p.m.; running prelims: 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday -- Field events begin: 9 a.m.; running finals: 2:30 p.m.
Brazos Valley teams: Bremond, Normangee
Three to watch:
Johnathon White -- Bremond's two-time defending state champion in the 800 ran 1:57.73 at the area meet.
Jacob White -- Johnathon's brother could challenge to advance in the 800 and will join him on the 1,600 relay team.
Josh Gadbois -- The Bremond runner qualified in the 1,600, 800 and 1,600 relay
Region IV-A
D.W. Rutledge Stadium, Converse Judson
Monday -- Running prelims: 9:30 a.m.; field events: 2:30 p.m. 3,200: 7 p.m.
Tuesday -- Field events begin: 9 a.m.; running finals: 1:30 p.m.
Brazos Valley teams: Burton, Calvert, Dime Box, Iola, Milano, Richards, Snook
Three to watch:
Shakera Barnes -- The Snook sophomore, the defending state champ in the 400, will be favored again after running 58.95 at area, and should contend in the long jump, 800 relay and 400 relay. Both relays have the region's best times, helping give Snook a shot at the team title.
Andre Ross -- The Calvert senior barely advanced out of in the 200 because of an ankle injury. If healthy, he could make it to state in the 100 and 200.
Xavier Bethany -- The Burton junior had a 43-9 triple jump to win area, the top 400 time in the region (51.93) and will run on the Panthers' sprint relay team. He also competes in the high jump.
