Consol soccer teams set up area-round matchups

A&M Consolidated's girls soccer team will play Richardson Lake Highlands at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Waco ISD Stadium in the Class 5A area playoffs.

The Lady Tigers defeated Mesquite Horn 4-0 in bi-district action Tuesday. Lake Highlands advanced with a 3-2 victory over Garland.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students.

Consol's boys will play McKinney Boyd at 7 p.m. Friday at Ennis Memorial Stadium. Consol (14-10) upset Longview 2-1 on Tuesday to advance, while Boyd, the District 10-5A champion, shut out Dallas W.T. White 1-0.

The Brenham boys (24-1-5) will play in the 4A sectional round of the playoffs at 6 p.m. Thursday in Tomball against Montgomery, a district rival in most sports but not in soccer. Brenham beat Beaumont Central 6-1 in area with Tyler Pieper scoring three goals. Montgomery defeated Nederland 4-1.

Brenham's girls (17-6-4) will play Port Neches-Groves in the sectional round at 8 p.m. Friday at Humble's Charles Street Stadium. Brenham won a shootout 5-2 over Little Cypress-Mauriceville in area, while PNG defeated Willis 3-0.
